Behind the chairs

About Mr Cobbs The Barber

Mr Cobbs has been cutting hair since 1770 — from a shaving shop in old London to Shop 278 at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.

Generations of steady hands, hot towels and proper conversation. The chair may have changed, but the standard never has: a sharp cut, a clean finish and you leaving better than you walked in.

Our Gentleman’s Club

A dinner in the presence of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, K.G. K.T — the Eccentric Club, Mayfair, London.

Mr Cobbs carries the traditions of the old London gentlemen’s clubs: black tie manners, straight-razor standards and a seat at the table for every gentleman who walks through the door. When you take our chair, you join the club.
